Desire to be Desirable

One of the deepest human longings is not just to be loved, but to be DESIRABLE – to feel worthy of attention, affection and acceptance.

I recently read a book, I WANT TO DIE, BUT I WANT TO EAT  TTEOKBOKKI, written by Baek Sehee. This desire quietly shapes many of the author’s struggles.

We often measure our worth through the eyes of others, believing we must achieve, impress, or be perfect to deserve love. But true healing begins when we realize that our value doesn’t depend on being chosen by others…

We are already enough even before the world VALIDATES us.

Sometimes, the deepest ache isnt loneliness- its the fear that no one will ever choose us. We crave more than love; we crave proof that we are worth loving. We smile a little brighter, work a little harder, and hide the parts of ourselves we  think are “TOO MUCH” or “NOT ENOUGH,” hoping someone will finally say, “YOU ARE ENOUGH.”

The DESIRE TO BE DESIRABLE is not vanity- it is often the cry of a heart that has mistaken acceptance for love.

Stop chasing validation; your worth was never up for NEGOTIATION.

Not every wound bleeds; some simple whisper, “Will I ever be enough?”

Our efforts to try to become enough, for others, quietly abandon ourselves.
